He has worked in the socio-political field, accompanying several processes in defense of human rights in Guatemala. In addition, he has been involved for many years in vocation ministry at the national level and was a founding member of the Association of Secular Institutes of Guatemala. Having discerned a call to the priesthood in recent years, he undertook his theological training, which he completed at the Faculty of Theology of the Rafael Landivar University in Guatemala.<br \/><br \/>After a pastoral internship in a parish setting and accompanying different groups in their faith journey, Miguel \u00c1ngel manifested his desire to receive priestly ordination. <em>\u201cToday, I want to continue to say \u2018yes\u2019. Yes to feed his holy people with his body and blood, with the bread of the Word and all the sacraments that the Church offers us to reach holiness together. I want to say \u2018yes\u2019 and renew the faith that my parents lovingly instilled in me in the God of life, of welcoming and sharing the little or the much that we had materially. I want to say \u2018yes\u2019 and keep going until I reach total abandonment and trust, going forth in hope, to let myself be surprised, to listen to the whisper of His Spirit. I want to say \u2018yes\u2019 to love and be a brother and a friend to all without limits, without borders, accompanying, giving hope and joy, being a prophetic voice among many others. I want to continue to say \u2018yes\u2019 to live this experience and surrender to the \u2018total self-giving\u2019 from within our Pius X Secular Institute that I love so deeply.\u201d<br \/><br \/><\/em>Miguel \u00c1ngel will receive the priestly ordination from the hands of His Excellency Gonzalo de Villa y V\u00e1squez, archbishop of Santiago de Guatemala, on June 4, the eve of Pentecost.<br \/><br \/>Psalm 115 sings it: <em>\u201cI will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.\u201d <\/em>May these words be our praise in deep communion with Miguel \u00c1ngel in these weeks of preparation for this great event for the entire Family of the Pius X Secular Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 4, 2022, in Guatemala City, the Pius X Secular Institute will welcome in its ranks a new priest.
